Trigger point, Neuromuscular, Trager, and energy work are Jesse’s main modalities. He also provides craniosacral work and has found many benefits in healing with sound.

Energy work has many benefits including deep relaxation, reduction in stress, and a better connection to your mind and body. Jesse assists in clearing the energy channels and opening up our often forgotten connection to earth energy and cosmic energy. Jesse focuses on getting these energies moving again. Clearing the energy channels reminds our bodies to release, balance, and align our energy. Jesse also works with clearing, repairing, and strengthening the chakras.

When not working with clients, Jesse enjoys relaxing in nature. He often finds himself immersed in playing Frisbee golf while out walking in our fabulous Portland parks.

Before graduating from East West and becoming a massage therapist, I was a professional ballet and contemporary dancer for about a decade. I bring the expertise I gained through all those years of movement to my bodywork through a deep understanding of the body and kin-aesthetic awareness.

I blend intuition and deep listening with a methodical approach, looking at both the entire structure causing pain or discomfort as well as broader holding and compensation patterns throughout the body that could be contributing to the main problem area. A session with me can look very different depending on our goals; techniques I utilize include Myofascial Release (with both deep, direct approaches and subtle, indirect approaches), Thai (usually involving stretching), cupping, Trigger point/Neuromuscular, and Swedish. While the techniques and pressure I utilize vary greatly based on your needs, one goal is the throughline of all my sessions: To create a safe, healing space for anyone to come and realize their bodywork goals, whether that be to decrease pain, increase performance, balance the nervous system, or just take some time for self care.

When I’m not practicing bodywork, I love getting outside (especially if it involves sleeping under the stars), reading, learning, hanging out with my cat, and finding new ways to move my body. I am so excited to meet you and help you nurture your relationship with your body.

My training in massage includes Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Myofascial work, as well as Craniosacral and Thai, and more. I incorporate all of my training into my work to give you a massage that is specific to your unique preferences and needs. My work includes both physical and energetic focuses because they are interwoven and impact each other.

Throughout my life I have had difficulties with feeling grounded and present in my body. As a trans person, my body has often been a source of discomfort and confusion. In our society, we are constantly being exposed to “ideal” body shapes, sizes, abilities, and appearances; many of us lose a sense of connection with our own bodies when they don’t conform to those ideals. I have worked hard over the years to respect my body rather than judging it, and I have found massage, both giving massages and receiving them, to be grounding and healing work that helps me to feel present and grounded in my body. My goal as a bodyworker is to create a space where you can feel that sense of being at home and at peace in your body.

Need a tune up for that body you’re piloting around all day?

Raised on family massage trains at every holiday gathering and frequent back rubs for friends with chronic pain, therapeutic touch has always been an integral part of life for me. I began formally studying massage and bodywork in 2019 and have been entranced by the unique convergence of energy, anatomy, and intuition found in bodywork ever since.

Each person I work with holds their own innate wisdom of how to navigate the stress and complexities of life. Through grounded, therapeutic touch, empathy, and communication focused on your goals, I hope to share my endless sense of wonder and fascination with these bodies we have and support your connection to your internal wisdom.

My approach is tailored to each individual, but my goals persist:
– To use my expertise to support folks with their chronic pain and stress.

– To create safe and inclusive treatment space and supportive work for bodies of all sizes, ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
– To expressly offer safe space for fat, trans, and gender nonconforming folks to receive therapeutic bodywork.

Let’s see what work we can get done together!

I’ve been a massage therapist since 2014. Before that, I was a graphic designer and spent all my time behind a desk. I KNOW how it feels when that back goes out and what those long hours at a desk can do to a body.

For me, massage was constantly in my life. My father was in the military so I’d massage his feet after a long day on the flight line. I was always the one to grab a friend’s shoulders and help ease tension even before I was a trained LMT.  Massage is something that I’ve always had a passion for. I just didn’t realize that it could be a career choice until much later in life. Now seven years later, I can honestly say it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.

I focus mostly on therapeutic massage, but I believe that this type of massage can also be relaxing. Just like deep tissue doesn’t have to hurt, therapeutic is a way of getting to chronic issues and helping those muscles and fascia let go and relax. I also do neuromuscular techniques. This is a method that is more client involved. I’ll have you do a specific action and you’ll be either pulling or pushing against me as the resistance for short bursts of time. This helps “reset” your brain and lets those muscles that might be too tender to work manually on relax. It is a fantastic and amazing technique.

I moved to the Montavilla area in 2019 and I love it here. I’m fortunate to be above the Bipartisan Cafe and across the street from the Hungry Heart Bakery! YUM! I can’t wait to make new connections here with all of you.
